SembangCOMICS is growing day by day and when the community gets crowded, we will come across many type of people and therefore, we need Rules & Regulations so that the activity of the site remains uninterrupted and forumers will have privileges of enjoying their own space as long as they abide by the rules. Rules are made simple and therefore we expect that our loyal patrons can take some time to go through this Rules & Regulation just to make SembangCOMICS a better and peaceful place.

Reminder: We, the admins and Mods of SembangCOMICS cannot satisfy everyone therefore if you feel rows and feuds that escalate and resort to abuses, flaming & arguments, we are sorry to say that SembangCOMICS does not fit in your favour. If you find that you cannot adapt in SembangCOMICS then all we demand that you have respect in others by behaving appropriately favourably adhere to the most basic netiquette otherwise just leave no hard feelings and no harm done.


Member Code of Conduct

We do not condone acts such as:

1. Personal attacks with intentions to degrade, humiliate, and embarrass another fellow member.

2. Vendettas resulted from resentments over past issues raised and targeted full fledged causing sabotage and reputation damage to the other individual.

3. Profanity of any form i.e. includes dirty talk and sex oriented talk is totally prohibited.

4. Jokes and teases are fine as long it does not aim to make others look foolish and humiliated.

5. It is fine to disagree, but is NOT fine to insult. Please maintain debate in constructive and civil manner.

6. Impersonate any person (a member) or entity, including, falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity is not tolerated.

7. Conduct or forward surveys (unless permitted by Mods for educational purposes, please refer if in doubt), contests, competitions, pyramid schemes, spams or chain messages/email.

8. Linking a file or URL that contain viruses, corrupted files, or any other similar software/programs with intention to destroy other member's computer and online facility is strictly forbidden.

9. Restrict or inhibit any other user from using and enjoying the forum.

So, we don't condone abuse in any content that is libelous, pornographic, sexually or racially offensive, illegal, defame, harass, stalk, information/data collecting, threaten or otherwise violate the legal rights (such as rights of privacy and publicity, see part of others is not allowed. Have courtesy for others!


Intellectual Property

1. Any article in the form of composition and genuine art work contributed by members should be it be reused and reproduced in annoy other form by other members must have permissions sought from its rightful owner.

2. We do not host any softwares, MP3s and video files of any format as it is illegal to do so and it might infringe the hosting policy.

3. However we could possibly provide links for downloads contributed by members but any activity engaged in downloading and using those materials are solely at your own risk.

4. Deliberately downloaded and distributed files in this forum i.e. hosting them in your web host and linking it here for others is illegal!

5. If you happen to contribute article taken elsewhere i.e. other sites,forums and newsgroups, please quote the source of the information such as the URL, author and whichever the most convenient.


Posting & Foruming

1. Postings are permitted for all registered members. However there are certain threads are only made accessible by special members with privileges such as Moderators & Admin.

2. Netiquette applies here therefore minor spamming or slight off-topic will be dealt by moderators on duty. The actions that they can take is either deleting with warning, deleting without warning or caution.

3. If you somehow feel offended with the moderators actions, you can drop them a PM. On normal basis moderators will only delete postings that contains sensitive elements such as provocation, sarcasm (extreme), and vendettas that potentially escalate into 'war'. So if you stick to your own cool self, and enjoy the atmosphere, the moderators won't find faults with you.

4. Only post what was titled in the thread, slight off-topic is fine as long as it is RELATED. Moderators will warn you if you are potentially going totally out of topic.

5. Linking pictures is fine, but we do not offer any facility for you to upload pics locally in our host as our host has limited space. There are pic hosting sites that are free for you to register and in this sense, you can try using Photobucket, Image Station and more in this listing

6. Linking article is fine as long your quote the source (refer Part B, Intellectual Property). You can use this tag in your post, for example:
tformers.com wrote: The article ...... yada yada
and at the bottom, quote the source for example,
"Source: tformers.com"

7. No "spamming", in the form of similar threads/posts in the same or different forums, unless approved as Moderators reserves the right to delete any of such threads/posts, and terminate the accounts of any offenders (only if it gets very serious)

8. Do refer to moderators on duty on why your post is being deleted or edited if you feel your postings are justified. Moderators are also humans and they have emotions and feelings, so throwing abuse and insults to them without consultation are not tolerated.

9. Members are encouraged to contribute to the site with their own findings, research, artwork, fanfic etc.


Topics

1. SembangCOMICS is a Malaysian toys site and therefore is best that members stick to the theme by contributing toys materials for all to enjoy be it in the form of news, pic (such as your own collection, gallery, etc), articles, fanfics, artwork (cartoon, funnies, drawings), download links and reviews.

2. Topics posting will be regularly monitored and policed by the Moderators.


Participation

1. Many have participated as virtual friends and end up as real life friends and we at SembangCOMICS would like to continue the legacy of doing so.

2. Do make your stay meaningful by participating actively in forums and gatherings actively to help expand the local toys fandom.

3. Participation will allow you to:
a. Advance through the ranks and achieve seniority
b. Enable you to buy and sell in Biztalk and make profit
c. Make more friends and get your collection noticed.
d. Get and share information of hunting down and comparing best deals in town through scouting and sightings section.
e. Experience the fun of joining and participating in gatherings where you can meet members in real life.
f. Good, well-behaved and potentially skilled ones will be promoted as Moderators or organising team in the future.

4. Many of us add each other to keep in touch via Friendster, Multiply, Hi-5 or simply using MSN, ICQ, YM. or Skype


Avatar, Signature, Banner & Advertising

1. Members who own a business and wish to have their banner put up as part of their profile signature MUST be an affiliate of SembangCOMICS. Any members caught of promoting their own outlet by means of free advertising will be warn.

2. Members who own a 'shop' in Biztalk can advertise their thread in their own signature. Other forms of advertising or solicitation for business are not allowed.

3. If you are a forumer/founder in other forum and wish to promote your site here is fine. Please refer to Mods on duty.

4. In Sightings & scouting section, please be discrete on information supplied so that it doesn't sounded very biased to a particular outlet. Let the comparison/judgement made by members without being influenced by one-sided information.

5. Banners of your own identity as part of the signature are allowed. Supported format is GIF & JPG files and it must be linked from your own web host i.e. Photobucket, Image Station, Multiply, etc

6. Avatars are fine. Avatars can be anything but must not have any sexual content. Animation in GIF is fine.

7. Banners for signature size are 500x150 pixels with not more than 72KB of size and anything NOT more than that. Any sigs larger than that will be cautioned first. Repeat and errant members will have their sig stripped off by Mods without warning after that. Banners must not contain any ANIMATIONS such as GIF or SWF.


Accuracy & Monitoring

SembangCOMICS cannot ensure the accuracy of the information thus, we does not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness, usefulness, integrity or quality of any message, and thus is not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of SembangCOMICS as a whole.

SembangCOMICS through their Mods and admins will monitor the site on their best effort and dedication as we assume you understand that by using the Service, you may be exposed to some parts of the content that is offensive, indecent or objectionable. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email.

We have the power and ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary to ensure peace and law was in order.

We reserve the rights to disclose any information that was deemed necessary as a process to satisfy any applicable regulation, law, and request or to edit, refuse any postings in all areas of the forum in whole or part of our sole discretion.

The Founders & Moderators

To avoid confusion, this part will explain who the main players in SembangCOMICS are and what they do.

Admins are made of founders & co-founder. They play a role as a moderator of the site, content regulator and manager of the site. They can't be online 24/7 and therefore, they need to delegate their tasks to trusted members who are known as Moderators.

Moderators are selected members who have given the authority to assist the founder & co-founder to administer the site. Therefore, they are given power to edit, delete and police the site. At times, they are allowed to carry out 'executive decision' based on the Rules & Regulation in the absence of the founders.

Moderators are there to make your participation easier, stress free and friendly. They are not there to bully and harass anyone. There are leeway that we can take to certain extents as we are just humans that have feelings and emotions. Please cooperate with us to make this place a better place.
